Inspired by the textured and organic production of Gordon Lightfoot, songs like âBilly Came Backâ and âThe Kid With the Crownâ feature richly layered choruses made all the more effective by their spartan verses. The glitchy vocal harmonies on âOh No Now Myâ feel beamed in from some distant future, fleetingly captured on decaying equipment for the albumâs most anthemic song, second only to the widescreen climax of âHey Sarah Is It Gonna Rain Forever.âÂ
